Diocesan Eucharistic Congress (A Place at The Table)

As part of our preparation for the 50th International Eucharistic
Congress in June 2012, a Diocesan Eucharistic Congress will be
held in Carlow on March 9th and 10th. The theme is: A Place at
The Table. There will be a number of keynote speakers: Baroness
Nuala O Loan, Fr Michael Drumm and Fr Peter McVerry, S.J. There
will also be a wide range of workshops taking place in the Cathedral
and Carlow College. Booking is essential. Brochures and booking

Catholic Schools Week 2012

The purpose of this week is to highlight and celebrate the wonderful
contribution that Catholic Schools make to our local communities and
society in general. This year’s theme is: Catholic Schools: Christ’s living
body active in our world.
At this weekend’s Masses, we give thanks for the great witness of
our parish schools: Scoil Mhuire Lourdes, Scoil Phádraig Naofa,
Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, Ardattin, St Brigid’s National School,Grange
and Tullow Community School.

In today’s Gospel we see Jesus calling his first disciples.
They are ordinary people who accept the invitation of Jesus to
leave their familiar lives and walk a different path. On that
journey they learn from Jesus by listening to his teaching and
following his example. Eventually they become co-workers in
his mission of proclaiming the Kingdom of God.
We are also disciples, – sisters and brothers of Jesus. We are
always being invited to come to know Jesus more, to learn
from him to grow in his love. In that way we then share
his light with others and make the Kingdom of God real in our
world today.

50th International Eucharistic Congress 2012 – Volunteers Needed

The 50th International Eucharistic Congress 2012 will take place in Dublin from 10th to 17th June, 2012. Volunteers will have an integral role to play in the success of the Congress. Between two and three thousand volunteers will be needed during the week of the Congress and also to assist in preparations in the months leading up to the Congress. The Congress is recruiting volunteers for a wide range of roles such as administration, data entry, stewards, marketing, transport, meet and greet, multimedia, pastoral preparation and much more.
