Beaver Section (6-8 year olds)

What are Beavers?
The Fun of Being Young Beaver Scouting is a programme for Boys and Girls aged between 6- 8 year of age. It is the youngest section of Scouting and open to all young people regardless of creed and background. That’s the nice thing about Beavers –anyone can join. The minute they join, they will be among friends their own age.
What do Beavers Do?
The Beaver Programme includes all sort of fun and enjoyable activities with plenty of chances to try something new. Like all of Scouting the emphasis is on fun, learning and the outdoors where Beavers learn about nature and the world we live in.
Enrolment
We are currently taking names for children aged between 6 and 8 with a view to opening a Beaver Section. This will compliment our existing Cub Section which caters for 8-11 year olds. When the Beavers get to the age of 8 ,they will then move into Cubs.
We would like to get about 12- 15 names before beginning Beavers. We would also require 2-3 Parents who would be interested in becoming Leaders to assist in the running of the Beaver Section. Full training is available for Leaders and help from the existing leaders is always available. Meetings are usually for 1 hour once per week and generally follow the school year in relation to holidays etc. and would be held in the Parish Centre at a time and evening suitable to all.

Scouts, Beavers and Cubs
will resume in the Parish Centre as follows:
Beavers: Monday 7th January.
Cubs: Monday 14th January.
Scouts: Thursday 17th January.
SCOUTS:
Fifth Carlow (Tullow) Scout group Cake Sale on aid of Telethon on Sunday 28th October after 11.30 a.m. Mass in The Parish Centre. Anyone who would like to donate cakes, buns, etc can leave them in the Parish Centre from 10 a.m. on the day. Your support would be much appreciated.SCOUTS
: Enrolment night for Scouts on Wednesday 3rd October in the Parish Centre from 7—8 p.m.
Beavers: Age 6—8 years.
Cubs: Age 8—11 years.
Scouts: Age 11—15 years.
